FRS-21X is a feature rich BroadbandcorDECT subscriber unit, designed to offer triple-play services over DECT air interface. FRS-21X consists of two components, an outdoor unit called ALM (Air Link Module) and Indoor unit called CPP (Customer premises Power Pack). The ALM outdoor unit has an integrated antenna and radio module to minimize the RF cable loss. The ALM unit is connected to the CPP using a standard flexible CAT-5 cable, which enables easy routing of cable.
FRS-21X comes in two flavors FRS-212 and FRS-214. FRS-212 provides both voice and Broadband data service to subscribers, whereas FRS-214 is optimized to deliver only Broadband data access.
FRS-21X is designed to extend the access to rural areas where the power source may not be reliable; FRS-21X takes standard AC power ranging from 90 to 300 VAC, and tolerates a sustained 440 VAC. FRS-21X has a NiMH battery backup for Voice service with a talk time of 8 hours and standby time of 36 hours. In addition to the battery FRS-21X has an external 12 V DC input for feeding power through solar panel.
